 The purpose behind this guideline is to simplify the process of registration of a new vehicle. Registration certificate can this now be renewed 60 days in advance. The time limit for provisional registration has also been increased from 1 month to 6 months.

 At the end of March, the Department of this Highways and Transport extended the validity of motor vehicle documents like driving license, registration certificate, fitness certificate, permit etc till 30 June 2021, in view of the rising corona crisis. The department has issued a circular. It states that documents expired on 1 February 2020 are valid till 30 June 2021.
